Breakthroughs
August and September were crazy with the end of summer and start of school for my kids.
I was also lacking some motivation or inspiration, and frankly, I had a huge case of the overwhelms.
One of the barriers was the art style of this thing. I have so many sketch pages and saved church bulletins where I’ve drawn in the margins. But sometime in the last month it finally clicked and I was able to produce a sketch style that I think I could execute through a whole book or set of books.
I wanted to share it with you all as I start exploring it for the book. The kids depicted are based off my two kids and some of their friends (without being exact caricatures of them). Let me know what you think - do these feel like characters you see in your kids story books?
One of, if not the first Roominaut sketch.
Something that can help with motivation is setting goals and deadlines. So, in the next couple weeks I’m going to share a set of nice cozy Hall-o-ween ROOMS for you to share with your kids over the holiday.
I hope you’re all doing well with the shift to school and fall. Catch you in a couple weeks.
